No matter what you do in the summer, you will never really be able to cool down! It’s HOT, but I am not complaining. I long for hot summer days and dressing in comfortable clothing. This isn’t exactly the best weather to wear makeup, but I managed to capture my shots before the foundation dripped off my face. I’m wearing some old pieces paired with shorts that I purchased from H&M recently. I have so many things that I haven’t worn, so I am trying to get those things worn before this summer ends! I hope you all have a fabulous day and manage to beat the heat!
“Because I am a woman, I must make unusual efforts to succeed. If I fail, no one will say, “She doesn’t have what it takes.” They will say, “Women don’t have what it takes.”– Clare Boothe Luce
Being a woman is not easy, but it is beautiful! We go through so many changes, that it sometimes scares us. We take on life’s challenges with grace, elegance and style and we do it effortlessly! We are fighting battles that you would never be able to comprehend! I, like many women have gone through and will go through many things, but I thank God that I do not look like what I have been through.
Now, onto my look! I love that I can be so versatile with my style from hair to clothing! For the past two months, I’ve been sporting a wig, as I am trying to allow my hair to grow without manipulating it. I got the urge to color my hair, so I went to my nearest Walgreen’s and purchased some Dark and Lovely hair color. I love to be different and change up every now and then. There is nothing mundane about me, my look or my personality. I truly do my best to have a good time and make the best out of every life situation and today was no different.
It was an extremely hot day today and although, you cannot tell I was hot; I was literally melting! I was having the time of my life while shooting. I was stopping traffic and it was quite embarrassing, lol! I’m just a woman out here doing what I love to do and trying to make it look easy! I hope you enjoyed today’s post!
When you think of spring, you think of florals of course, but florals and motorcycle jackets? Who would have thought the two would go together so perfectly?! Floral prints are so feminine and girly and I love that they’re being presented in a much edgier way! This is a jacket that you will see me in more often than not. I have been holding on to it for some time and could not wait to wear it when the weather permitted. Although it’s quite windy, the sun was out and that was enough for me. Now that the weather is beginning to break, you will find me in much lighter outerwear. I absolutely hate heavy clothing.
Thanks for stopping by!

I really have to work on my facial expressions, lol!Smiling is always a good idea 🙂I really do love my Jessica Simpson pumps!
Fashion and Style is something that I am very passionate about, but lately, I have been out of it and not really wanting to do anything that requires effort. Lazy? Yes, but with a valid explanation. Type 2 Diabetes…I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2011. Something was off with my body, as I was gaining weight, always tired and extremely thirsty all the time. I decided to go to the doctor to check it out and see if there was an issue. Well, the test results came back and I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes! I wasn’t all that familiar with the disease, but it runs on both sides of my family and my parents both had it. Not really worrying much out of sheer ignorance, I continued to eat as I normally would. I am a person who eats pretty well, but there are things that I love that aren’t so good for me. Well, let’s fast-forward to 2015 (of course I was going to the doctor regularly in between). I went back to the doctor because my diabetes is poorly controlled and found that my A1C went from a 7.4 to a 13.9 from the time I was diagnosed! My vision and limbs are affected and the only way to really get this thing under control is to start insulin. Now, because of the poor control, I am on two types of insulin and three different pills. With insulin, increased activity and a few more changes to my diet, I am making progress…it was the wakeup call that I needed and although, I don’t want to be on all of this medication; I have to do what is necessary to get better. The thought of not being here for my son and my loved ones scares me and I don’t want to be the reason that I did not make it. I hope to reach someone who has the same struggles as I do because it’s not an easy disease to deal with. It takes so much discipline to get it under control. Don’t let ignorance and stubbornness keep you from taking care of your body.
If you live on the east coast, you know the winter we’ve been having, so it’s no surprise that today I decided to step out and and enjoy this lovely 60° weather! I’ve been sort of trapped in the house due to horrible weather and feeling not so great, but today, I figured I’d get out for a little sun! I wanted to keep my look simple since I had some running around to do. I opted for some two-toned skinny jeans, a DIY off the shoulder sweatshirt and my nude pumps! I’m so excited that spring is near and I can’t wait to share my upcoming looks with you!
It was a fairly decent day in New Jersey today and I felt like wearing my favorite white jeans! Who says you can’t wear white after Labor day?! I don’t follow fashion rules! I like to do things my way and really put my sense of style out there. I decided to pull out one of my favorite pairs of ankle boots from Steve Madden from several years ago just to add a cool neutral look to my plaid duster. I cinched it with a thin croc print belt from H&M (old).I created a great fall look with pieces I already owned. You don’t have to go out and shop for new pieces all the time. Sift through your wardrobe and find little hidden gems and pair them with more recent pieces to create a trendy, yet timeless look for yourself!

So, last Friday was Halloween and I attended a Hallowedding with a friend! It was the most unorthodox wedding I’d ever attended, but it was a lot of fun! I don’t dress up for Halloween, but I opted to wear my beautiful green peplum dress from KTR Collection and my bow pumps from Steven by Steve Madden!
People often tell me that I look like I popped out of the 70s! I was born in the 70s so I don’t mind! I love a good jumpsuit and adding personal little touches to make the look your own is what style is all about! The jumpsuit I’m wearing is from http://www.MysEleganceBoutique.com. I added a flower to give it a little something extra. The jumpsuit is a multiway, so the top can be styled many different ways. My bag is vintage Fendi and my wedges are from Fendi spring 2008, but can be found on eBay and other sites. It was a lovely day in NYC and I’m not ready to cover up my toes :-). I went out for dinner in the city with a friend and had a lovely time! I hope you all had a wonderful Wednesday! Until next time!
Denim is a trend that will last forever. It’s always in style and can be worn so many different ways. You can dress it up, down and even wear it to work on a casual day! You can’t really go wrong with denim. Today was a casual Sunday with my loved ones, so I opted for my Canadian Tuxedo with my favorite leopard T-Strap sandals. My jeans are Grey Ant (old) and my shirt is from American Eagle Outfitters. I hope you’re all having a great Sunday!

Blazers hold a special place in my heart…I know, I know, it’s not quite fall, but it was raining today (any excuse to put on a blazer). I didn’t feel like being exposed, so the perfect piece of clothing to cover up is a blazer! You’ve got to pay attention to detail when wearing prints such as leopard, as they can be overwhelming and can sometimes be worn inappropriately. Everyone knows I love leopard printed pieces and mixing patterns and prints. Leopard is ultimate neutral and can be paired with other prints and solids. If done right, you can really create a bold, groundbreaking look (I will be doing a post on mixing prints soon).decided to pair it with some basic blue skinny jeans and a tank top since it was a casual Friday! I hope you all had a great weekend and enjoy the week ahead! Thanks for stopping by! XOXO
