Even a snail will eventually reach its destination.
In life, there are always going to be obstacles and things that set you back from reaching goals you’ve set for yourself. No one is exempt. In my forty years of life and twenty being an adult, I’ve had many, but when I set a goal; I see it through to the end. I was out of work for quite some time, but no one knew unless you were close to me. I kept myself together, mentally, physically and spiritually. I continued to do the things I needed to do and looked for work. I was given a few opportunities to do some things to get my name out there and I blogged more and more. It’s a slow process, but I’m moving in the right direction. I kept going, not just for myself, but for my son. Our children and people we don’t even know are looking to us for inspiration. You can’t let minor setbacks keep you from getting to the finish line. Everything happens in the time it is meant to, so don’t fret when something doesn’t happen on your specific timeline. God’s timing is the absolute best, so wait on him, but keep pushing because you will absolutely get to the place in which you wish to go.
Whatever you want from life, whatever destination you wish to reach; P. U. S. H., move in silence and let those accomplishments speak for you!

Happy Friday, fashionistas!
Have you ever loved something so much, that you find a number of ways to use it? Yeah, these white jeans are one of my favorites and I love to find new ways to style them. There is nothing wrong with repeating your clothing! You pay for things to be used and not collect dust, right? I don’t usually wear the same thing twice in a month, but I do repeat things. I hear a lot of people say they don’t repeat outfits. I honestly think it’s a waste not to. You don’t have to wear your stuff the same every time. That’s the beauty of maximizing your wardrobe. Having things that you can wear more than one way is great! Since fall is approaching, I opted to wear my favorite white jeans with a sleeveless duster and suede fringed sandals! I am making an effort not to purchase anything new and to utilize all the wonderful pieces I already own. When you have a plethora of clothing in your wardrobe, you don’t need to purchase so much. I have been blessed to have a lot, so I am trying to use what I have and not add anything new to my already overwhelming, but very well-organized closets.
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Excellence does not require perfection – Henry James
I’ve never claimed to be an expert at taking pictures. Hell, I don’t even know how to set my camera to blur the background, but I will try every time until I get it right. All of the pictures you see are taken by my sister who happens to be a novice photographer. Just like fashion is my passion, photography is hers. One of these days, very soon; I am going to purchase a really great camera with all the bells and whistles and we will be capturing the most amazing photos; but for now, we work with what we’ve got. I love fashion, style, photos and writing about my life’s experiences and I want that to be reflected in my photographs. As time progresses, the pictures will improve because we are committed to bringing forth excellence in our work. I believe that location is everything and will magnify the beauty in your photos. I have the style part down pat, but still working on the quality of the photos. I’m no model and sometimes, I have issues with my poses. I think that’s because I’m thinking too much when shooting. Most of the time, I am goofing off, but that’s when the photos come out the best. I think the key for me is; don’t overthink things` and let it flow naturally. I am not trying to be anyone, but Kimsue and my photos reflect my personality. I am a goofball and life of the party and I want you to see that fun loving side of me. As far as the content; I have been more and more consistent with my blog this year. Although, it’s not where I want it to be, I know that consistency is key and I will reach the place in which I am heading. Bear with me!

No matter what you do in the summer, you will never really be able to cool down! It’s HOT, but I am not complaining. I long for hot summer days and dressing in comfortable clothing. This isn’t exactly the best weather to wear makeup, but I managed to capture my shots before the foundation dripped off my face. I’m wearing some old pieces paired with shorts that I purchased from H&M recently. I have so many things that I haven’t worn, so I am trying to get those things worn before this summer ends! I hope you all have a fabulous day and manage to beat the heat!

Hello Dolls and Guys!
Sunday night was a great night celebrating a great indie film! I was blessed to be a part of the crew that brought this film, Date N’ Game: The Movie together. Being a stylist is one of many things I love to do and I’m blessed to be able to exhibit my talent in this movie. Thank you, Kel Spencer for seeing my talent and allowing me to make my dream a reality. It was a celebration of hard work and a dream coming to fruition. This is only the beginning. A few photos of the cast and crew from the movie!

When we think of the month of April, we think of rain and lots of it! I think of Autism awareness and what it means to millions of families, including mine. I’m a single mom of a teenage boy who is on the spectrum. I love it when I can bring my passion and a cause together! I was looking for a fashion forward way to bring awareness to autism, so I had a custom envelope clutch made by a designer here in New Jersey. I love to bring a fashionable awareness to causes that are near and dear to my heart. The clutch is about two years old, but it looks brand new. April 2nd is world autism awareness day and everyone lights it up, Blue! So to bring awareness to the disability, I’ll be doing just that and you should do the same. More and more children are being diagnosed with Autism and we need to continue to research and find a way to eradicate this disability! I hope you enjoyed my post!

Fashion and Style is something that I am very passionate about, but lately, I have been out of it and not really wanting to do anything that requires effort. Lazy? Yes, but with a valid explanation. Type 2 Diabetes…I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2011. Something was off with my body, as I was gaining weight, always tired and extremely thirsty all the time. I decided to go to the doctor to check it out and see if there was an issue. Well, the test results came back and I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes! I wasn’t all that familiar with the disease, but it runs on both sides of my family and my parents both had it. Not really worrying much out of sheer ignorance, I continued to eat as I normally would. I am a person who eats pretty well, but there are things that I love that aren’t so good for me. Well, let’s fast-forward to 2015 (of course I was going to the doctor regularly in between). I went back to the doctor because my diabetes is poorly controlled and found that my A1C went from a 7.4 to a 13.9 from the time I was diagnosed! My vision and limbs are affected and the only way to really get this thing under control is to start insulin. Now, because of the poor control, I am on two types of insulin and three different pills. With insulin, increased activity and a few more changes to my diet, I am making progress…it was the wakeup call that I needed and although, I don’t want to be on all of this medication; I have to do what is necessary to get better. The thought of not being here for my son and my loved ones scares me and I don’t want to be the reason that I did not make it. I hope to reach someone who has the same struggles as I do because it’s not an easy disease to deal with. It takes so much discipline to get it under control. Don’t let ignorance and stubbornness keep you from taking care of your body.

Sometimes, you don’t need much to accessorize an outfit. The simplest things can make your look pop! Fringes are a favorite for me! For the past few seasons, fringes have been a staple in fashion and this season is no exception. I’ve been seeing fringes all over the place! On bags, shoes clothing and other accessories. Here are a few of my favorite pieces! I’ll be doing a whole post dedicated to how to sport your favorite looks with fringes added!

It was a fairly decent day in New Jersey today and I felt like wearing my favorite white jeans! Who says you can’t wear white after Labor day?! I don’t follow fashion rules! I like to do things my way and really put my sense of style out there. I decided to pull out one of my favorite pairs of ankle boots from Steve Madden from several years ago just to add a cool neutral look to my plaid duster. I cinched it with a thin croc print belt from H&M (old).I created a great fall look with pieces I already owned. You don’t have to go out and shop for new pieces all the time. Sift through your wardrobe and find little hidden gems and pair them with more recent pieces to create a trendy, yet timeless look for yourself!

Today was a rather warm day here in New Jersey and I had some running around to do; so I decided to go for my favorite boyfriend jeans. I really love the comfort of these boyfriend jeans. You can wear them up or down; with shoes, booties or sneakers. I love clothing that is functional and can be worn many different ways. Today, was a casual day for me so jeans and a t-shirt with these eye catching booties were a go! Thanks for stopping by! Until next time…XOXO
