Entry 059: Back Like I Never Left!

IMG_5209Just when the caterpillar thought her life was over, she began to fly!

Happy Friday, Fashionistas!

It’s the first day of April and this is my first I post for the year! I’ve been gone for several months, not blogging due to a new work schedule and issues with my health. I just wasn’t feeling like blogging at all and put it on the back burner to focus on my health and other things. It’s no excuse, but when you’re not feeling something, you shouldn’t force it. I felt like I’d lost my mojo and desperately needed to get it back. Now I’m back and ready to pick up where I left off! As you may know if you’ve been following me, I am living with type one diabetes and it has been a constant struggle, a daily struggle but I am improving my health and getting my numbers down. It really is a challenge to stay on top of things when you have a crazy work schedule and other things going on in your life, but my health is paramount. Since my last post I have had some issues with my sugar and am now using an insulin pump to control my blood sugar. I’m not going to tell you that it’s easy and I’m not going to tell you that I’m not having a difficult time because I am. This is one of the most challenging things that I’ve ever had to deal with in my life! I will not let it get the best of me though. Next week, I’m meeting with another diabetes educator who is going to show me the ropes on using my insulin pump and really getting things under control. I hope that this post will find someone that is struggling just like I am and be a source of inspiration because that is what I strive to do every day of my life. I want to help people and still let you know that you’re not in this by yourself.
Thank you for stopping by!

I love you, I mean it!  – Kimsue

“Reinvent new combinations of what you already own. Improvise. Become more creative. Not because you have to, but because you want to. Evolution is the secret for the next step.” Karl Lagerfeld

Creating great looks without having to go shopping is both a money and time saver!  I am striving to not purchase many new things this season, as I really don’t need anything and I am saving to move. I just purged four closets of clothing and shoes and will be giving away those pieces to my Church and a few people I know. It’s important to give back whenever possible. I try to be a blessing to others because I know what it’s like to struggle. I am creating new looks with things that I’ve already worn. There is so much you can do with the clothing you already have and if you’re like me; you have a lot to choose from. The more you can do with your pieces, the better. I have worn these boyfriend jeans a few ways and I love that I can dress them up or down.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday, fashionistas!

Have you ever loved something so much, that you find a number of ways to use it? Yeah, these white jeans are one of my favorites and I love to find new ways to style them. There is nothing wrong with repeating your clothing! You pay for things to be used and not collect dust, right? I don’t usually wear the same thing twice in a month, but I do repeat things. I hear a lot of people say they don’t repeat outfits. I honestly think it’s a waste not to. You don’t have to wear your stuff the same every time. That’s the beauty of maximizing your wardrobe. Having things that you can wear more than one way is great!  Since fall is approaching, I opted to wear my favorite white jeans with a sleeveless duster and suede fringed sandals! I am making an effort not to purchase anything new and to utilize all the wonderful pieces I already own. When you have a plethora of clothing in your wardrobe, you don’t need to purchase so much. I have been blessed to have a lot, so I am trying to use what I have and not add anything new to my already overwhelming, but very well-organized closets.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Hello Dolls and Guys!

Sunday night was a great night celebrating a great indie film! I was blessed to be a part of the crew that brought this film, Date N’ Game: The Movie together. Being a stylist is one of many things I love to do and I’m blessed to be able to exhibit my talent in this movie. Thank you, Kel Spencer for seeing my talent and allowing me to make my dream a reality. It was a celebration of hard work and a dream coming to fruition. This is only the beginning. A few photos of the cast and crew from the movie!

XOXO

Hey dolls!

I’ve been gone for a minute, but I’m back and have a whole lot to share with you. I have been focusing on so many other things, that I let my blog take a backseat. Well, I’m here and ready to share all of my looks and experiences with you. I want to focus on both storytelling and fashion, so I decided to incorporate my everyday life into this blog. I hope you are ready for what I have in store for you!

A little about what I’m wearing in this post: Last Friday, I had the pleasure of attending a beautiful wedding. My nieces teacher got married and invited us to be a part of the celebration. If you know me, then you know that I am such a sucker for love! I can’t wait to have a wedding of my own. It was a beautiful ceremony and my first Catholic wedding. I opted to wear a Red jumpsuit and white heels, as I didn’t want to be too over dressed. The weather was beautiful and the sun was shining all day. It was the perfect day to say, I do!

I hope that you all had an amazing weekend! Until next time!

XOXO,

Kimsue

Today was an awesome day! I spent Thanksgiving with my family. It was bittersweet, as my father was not here to celebrate ( he passed in July). I always made it a point to get dolled up for my dad, as he is my King, so today was no exception. It was a cold day in NYC, but it didn’t stop me from wearing my white cotton shirt-dress! I hope you all had an awesome and blessed Thanksgiving with your friends and family! Until Next time💋💙IMG_5936.JPG

Entry 009: White Hot For Spring!

When is the right time to wear white shoes? There are so many do’s and dont’s when it comes to fashion and white shoes are no exception! I personally feel that you should wear what you like whenever you like. Fashion is subjective and your interpretation of style. I love white! Whether it’s shoes, bags or clothing; I like to experiment with different style and play with color (or the absence of). I’m patiently awaiting spring so I may explore new, more mature styles that fit my personality. It has been a COLD and BRUTAL winter and I’m anxious to put away all my lovely coats. Stay tuned for more fashion and style from this New Jersey Belle! 💋❤️

In the meantime; check out this lovely shoe from Zara!

Entry 005: Mickey, Minnie x White!

Ever think about how long Mickey and Minnie have been together? LOL! Me either, but as I got dressed this morning, I thought of it and wondered if I’d ever have a long lasting relationship. I know this has nothing to do with fashion, but it was the inspiration for my look today. I tend to wear white all year long, as I don’t follow anyone’s fashion rules. As you can see, I cut my hair even shorter. I feel my best when I my hair is short like this. I’ve always been natural and I wouldn’t have it any other way… I love my features and I feel that you can see all of me this way.
